This adventure bike tour takes you on the most beautiful dirt tracks of the Alps, from the Lake Bourget, largest natural lake in France, to the Mediterranean Sea. Enjoy the ride through the Ecrins National Park, the mountain ranges of the Queyras and Parpaillon, the Ubaye Valley and the breathtaking Mercantour National Park. Drive on the best off-road military tracks of the Alps, such as the legendary Col du Parpaillon and its scary tunnel, highest track in France at 2,637m; or the stunning Via del Sale which winds along the ridges of the French-Italian border at altitudes between 1,800 and 2,260m! The route also offers stretches of paved roads with beautiful curves; including the mythical Col du Galibier and the Bonette Road, the highest road in Europe at 2,802m! Off road safety
Local knowledge
For both safety and organizational reasons, it is strongly recommended to practice off road riding with a tour guide. Our local knowledge and experience are the key to ensure the feasibility of this tour from both technical and regulatory points of view.
Tour guide
The experienced French and English speaking tour guide manages the group, adapts to the speed and interests of the riders, and can resort to plan B when the weather conditions or unpredictable problems in the high mountains come up.
Small group tours
In order to fully enjoy the ride in a safe, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, we operate small group tours from 4 to 8 riders maximum.
Useful information
Experience
With daily distances between 170 and 200 km and about 40% off road, you have to know how to handle tight corners and hairpins on a dirt road with a dual sport or adventure bike.
Dual sport and adventure bikes
Our off road tours are open to adventure bike riders on any type of dual sport and adventure bikes such as GS, Africa Twin, Vstrom, Ténéré, Tiger, KTM Adventure… We strongly recommend that you install protection parts on your motorcycle (crash bars, skid plate, handguards…). All our adventure bike rentals are kitted out with protection parts from our partner Outback Motortek.
Tires
We advise you to use adventure motorcycle tires combining grip and comfort on and off the road (Michelin Anakee Adventure, Continental TKC 70, Heidenau K60, Mitas E-07…).
Riding gear
We recommend to wear protective riding gear offering comfort and protection on and off the road: helmet, jacket, pants, gloves and boots.

Great start of this off-road motorcycle tour in the French Alps on the Emparis Plateau in front of the most spectacular view on the Meije and its glaciers. Rivers, torrents, waterfalls, lakes with transparent waters… the scenery is splendid! You spend the night at over 2,000 meters of altitude, at the top of the Col du Lautaret!
The adventure bike ride starts on the most beautiful tracks of the Écrins National Park. Viewpoints, magnificent valleys, hidden villages, larch forests and many off-road passes are on today’s program! The last dirt track offers superb views on the Lake Serre-Ponçon and the clifftop town of Embrun. Beautiful final day of our adventure bike tour in the Alps on the old military track of the Via del Sale which winds along the ridges of the French-Italian border at altitudes between 1,800 and 2,260m! As you ride along, discover old military fortifications in a grandiose high mountain scenery. Our off-road motorcycle tour across the French Alps ends with a dip in the Mediterranean Sea, a good beer and an excellent dinner in the historical Old-Town of Nice…
After a last breakfast facing the Mediterranean Sea, you are free to go back home or to extend your stay. For those who have rented a motorcycle from our agency in Aix-les-Bains, a magnificent stretch of road (paved this time!) will bring you back to your destination in a few hours…
